Leaving on a jet plane

Another busy week/weekend had me cheering at a pee-wee wrestling tournament, chasing around a busy-happy two year old, seeing college friends and oh yeah, PACKING----> that dreaded word. From what seemed like forever is now only a few days away and after 7 months of marriage we finally are taking off to the Caribbean for our honeymoon in beautiful Antigua. So, as much as I will miss you all and the lovely Midwest weather, this will be my last blog post for awhile, but I promise I will have the most amazing pictures for weeks 4 and 5.
 Stay tuned my friends

project 365 | January 8th-14th

So I am a little behind on the second week of my 365 challenge, please excuse my tardiness in the blogging world. The good news is that it's finally above zero degree temperatures out here in the tundra! Yay! This past week I was able to celebrate my birthday with friends and family and enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend at home filled with plenty of coffee, a good book and was finally able to take an evening walk with Brooks again. It was some much needed r&r. And I'll admit it, I got a little lazy this week and didn't get daily pictures in, so excuse all of the sunset pictures at the end, it was just too beautiful not to work with!

Project 365 | January 1st-7th

This past week has been pretty uneventful with the holidays officially winding down, so I was able to get started on my daily photos for my first ever 365 project. I was really in a black and white mood this week...I blame the weather.

What I Am Reading

As one of my resolutions for 2015 is to take more time for reading and relaxing, I thought I would share what I am currently reading. A fact about me that I forgot to leave out the other day, (as I figured 20 was enough) was that I love history. This is something I acquired from my dad and my grandpa. It was always my favorite subject in school and it seemed like I could never learn enough, so of course I tend to pick books on that topic. "Washington's Spies" by Alexander Rose, is the story of American's first spy ring that operated during the War of American Independence that provided George Washington with information on British Troop movements. Great read so far! If you're not into reading, AMC has made a spin off TV series based on the spy ring called "TURN", which is how Derek seems to get his "reading" in. ;)

Book number two is "Insurgent", which is the second book in the Divergent series. If you were a fan of the Hunger Games series, you will more than likely fall into this series as well...or maybe that's just me. Either way, I always find that the books are better than the movies anyways!

Meg in a Nutshell

In the midst of working on some portraits this evening for fellow employees in my office, I realized that I haven't officially introduced myself to the blogger world. Working in the marketing field, I've learned that your bio can be the most important thing you could ever write. This in turn could also be an exaggeration, but your bio is most definitely an important marketing tool. With that, my name is Megan Zenk, but most of my friends call me Meg. I remember 2014 like it was yesterday

"The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals."

Today is the first blank page of a 365 page book and the day I begin my first 365 project!
Here goes nothing!

"What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness?"
John Steinbeck

"I have found that when you are deeply troubled, there are things you get from the silent devoted companionship of a dog that you can get from no other source"

"Kid, you'll move mountains"
Dr. Suess

"You are beautiful, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made"
Psalm 139:14

"A heap of giggles and wiggles and love, these are the things little boys are made of"
